Brings Online Donation to First Internet Fundraising Webcast
SAN JOSE,
CA, March 19, 1999-- The
Leukemia Society of America's (LSA) Team in Training program jumps
on the electronic fundraising bandwagon this month with an online
event made possible by Entango Corporation. On Saturday, March 20,
Entango launches the Internet's first live fundraising webcast at
the site http://www/studentshelp.org/give.
The benefit raises money for Sara Mazer, a cyclist in the LSA's
Team in Training program. The program offers professional team training
under the guidance of world class athletes in return for a volunteer
athlete's commitment to raise funds to fight leukemia. Mazer is
fulfilling this commitment by drawing on Entango's powerful online
donation solution, and combining it with the drawing power of world
class athletics.
Featured guests such as former 49er coach George Parks will be able
to make their contributions with one click of a button, and without
writing a single check. And once guests such as Olympians Barb Acosta
and George Mount sign up, they will immediately go into the Leukemia
Society's contributor database. This event introduces Entango's
one stop shopping solution to approximately four hundred party goers:
AND remote guests from around the world will be able to log on and
see the live video fundraiser in progress. They can actively participate
by double-clicking on Entango's "Donate Now" button and
contribute online to LSA using their credit cards.
Host Sara Mazer can use Entango's business solution database to
e-mail personalized, electronic thank you's to each of the contributors.
And the "Donate Now" button remains active 24 hours a
day, seven days a week on the http://www/studentshelp.org/give
website through June 6, 1999. That allows Sara Mazer's supporters
to contribute to her Century Ride after this evening benefit.
