Entango Enables Toys for Tots' First Holiday Season Online Fundraising Campaign

Online Fundraising Service Provider to Help Deliver Gifts to More Than 5 Million Underprivileged U.S. Children During the 1999 Holiday Season

SAN JOSE, CA, Dec. 9, 1999 (Business Wire)-- Entango Corporation, (www.entango.com) announced today that its fundraising tools will be used by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in their first-ever holiday season online fundraising campaign. Entango offers secure online donation and transaction services to nonprofits on a fee-per-transaction basis with no setup or recurring costs.

To supplement and deliver holiday gifts for more than 5 million impoverished U.S. children of all ages, the Toys for Tots Foundation relies heavily upon cash donations. Anyone with a Web browser can quickly, easily and securely make an online credit card donation at www.ToysforTots.org.

"Most people associate Toys for Tots with teddy bears and toy trucks. They don't realize that our goal is to provide a happy Christmas for as many children of all ages as possible," said Major Bill Grein USMC (Ret.), vice president of the Toys for Tots Foundation. "Cash donations help us to complete our mission all the way through to the delivery of toys. We believe that Entango will provide an optimal channel for increasing these donations by exposing us to new donors via the Internet."

Entango provides donors with the most secure and convenient way to contribute to the 1999 campaign, while providing the Toys for Tots Foundation with more streamlined, lower cost fundraising and immediate access to monies raised. Entango's secure electronic transactions, automated thank-you service and complete integration with the "look and feel" of the Toys for Tots site will allow the organization to focus on its mission of distributing gifts to impoverished American children. Entango's solution provides Toys for Tots with a new fundraising channel that will attract younger, more affluent, Web-savvy donors -- whose average income is almost $60,000. Studies show that Web users, typically in their mid-thirties, are more proactive in their giving. This means that they're more likely to give impulsively and respond more quickly to a donation request than the more traditional donor, who is typically more than 55 years old and not online.

Toys for Tots Selects New Technology,

Helping to attract this appealing demographic, Netcentives (Nasdaq:NCNT), the parent company of ClickRewards, has committed to donate ClickMilesTM to Toys for Tots, which will be used to reward online donations. Until December 31st, in a special Click for Kids promotion, Toys for Tots will reward online donors with one ClickMile for every dollar they donate. ClickMiles are redeemable one-to-one for frequent flyer miles from ten leading airline programs as well as for high quality merchandise, hotel stays and car rentals. Entango will email receipts to donors for their tax-deductible contributions and store them in a secure online database for easy access at tax time. "Toys for Tots is an American institution, and it's exciting to help them launch online fundraising this holiday season," said Richard Cox, president and CEO of Entango. "Entango is committed to giving nonprofits the ability to make the most of their funds, and we're pleased that Toys for Tots will now be able to solicit and immediately collect online contributions."

b>About Toys for Tots:

The Toys for Tots program started in 1947, just two years after the end of World War II, and was the vision of Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks. It began with a "Raggedy Ann" doll handcrafted by Hendricks' wife, Diane. She asked Bill to find a charitable organization that would deliver the doll to a needy child at Christmas. Bill searched the Los Angeles area but was unable to locate any agency with the mission of providing toys to needy children. His search convinced him that there were thousands of children in Los Angeles who would not know the joy of Christmas on December 25, 1947. At the urging of his wife and with the support of his commanding officer, Major Hendricks and a handful of Marine Corps Reservists collected 5,000 toys, which they distributed to needy children on Christmas day. In so doing, they launched the Toys for Tots program. The program has grown from that initial collection of 5,000 toys to a present day average of over eight million toys each Christmas. Marines now fulfill the Christmas dreams of more than four million children annually. The Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program, with the help of thousands of volunteers from the Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve, has increased their toy collection each year. Last year, they set a new record collecting an unprecedented 11.2 million toys that were distributed to 4.8 million children in all 50 states and in Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and American Samoa. The goal for the 1999 campaign is to reach 5 million children.
