Entango,
built on the foundation of the successful Internet technology-consulting
firm Terret, Inc., has been providing e-commerce services since 1996.
Recognizing that the nonprofit sector was at risk of being left behind
in the Internet revolution, Terret's management team decided in late
1998 to refocus the company's concentratration exclusively on the
nonprofit sector. Entango was born in January of 1999 to provide reliable
online fundraising services exclusively for nonprofit organizations.
The first six months were devoted to refining the online fundraising
technology and services, including secure online donation processing,
membership processing, merchandising, event registration, automatic
receipt generation, and others. The first clients were signed in
June of 1999.
In the following years, Entango has continued
to expand its services to include email solicitation and management,
international transactions, scheduled repeat giving, and viral philanthropy,
among others. As a result, Entango has hundreds of loyal clients
nationwide, including many top tier colleges and universities such
as Rutgers University, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Babson
College, national organizations such as Toys for Tots,
SADD, Inc., Legal Momentum, International Museum of Women,
numerous chapters of the American Red Cross, United Way,
Big Brothers Big Sisters, Starlight Starbright Children's
Foundation, and many others.
